How to Play Speedy Tap
Speedy Tap is an original reaction game created for Arcory. A coloured circular target appears somewhere in the playfield — you do not click the circle itself. Instead, press the fixed colour button that matches it: Red, Blue, Green or Yellow. Every correct match raises your score by one, records your reaction time, and places a new target in a different spot with a shorter response window.
Survive the full 30-second round without pressing the wrong colour or letting a target expire. The buttons stay in the same order for the whole session so muscle memory can take over while the pace climbs.
Controls
On desktop, press R for Red, B for Blue, G for Green and Y for Yellow. Touch and mouse players tap the same labelled colour buttons under the playfield. Colour names appear on both the target and the buttons so the game is never colour-only. Pause freezes the round and response timers; when you resume, a short countdown appears and a fresh target is dealt.
Adaptive speed
You begin with 1,500 milliseconds to answer each target. After every correct tap the window shrinks by 35ms, never dropping below 450ms. A brief transition after each hit prevents accidental double answers. Prefer reduced motion? Arcory shortens that transition so the game stays fair without large animations.
Reaction tips
Read the colour word on the target, then commit to one button — second-guessing costs more time than a clean miss. Keep your fingers near A / S / D / F on a keyboard (R / B / G / Y also work), or rest thumbs above the colour strip on a phone. Sound cues are optional; Speedy Tap plays fully with sound off.
Mobile play
The playfield and four large colour controls are laid out for narrow screens. Targets stay inside the safe area so they never cover the HUD or buttons. Guest play works instantly — no account required for a quick round.
Speedy Tap FAQ
Is Speedy Tap free?
Yes. Play in the browser on Arcory with no download. Guests and signed-in players can both start a round.
Can I save mid-round?
No. Speedy Tap is a short session game. Results are still recorded when a round ends, but there is no Continue Playing or cloud save for an unfinished run.
How do I win?
Last the full 30 seconds without a wrong colour or timeout. Your score is the number of correct matches; the result screen also shows fastest and average reaction times.
